For those in other parts of the world, laws may be different.
1. You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material that is false, abusive, obscene, or otherwise against any United Kingdom (English) law, or that of your own country. Spam is not tolerated, so don't do it. Bigoted, racist, narrow minded, homophobic/transphobic behaviour is not allowed here either.
2. The profiles, and posted messages, express the views of the author, and not the views of the forum as a whole, or the administrators. Anyone who feels that a posted message is objectionable is encouraged to notify an administrator of this forum immediately. The administrators of this forum reserve the right to remove objectionable content. You are solely responsible for the content of your posted messages. Furthermore, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the administrators, and anyone else connected with providing this service.
3. When you register, you get to pick your username. It does not need to be your own name, but please keep it clean. Please don't give your password out to another person (except an administrator) for your protection. You also agree not to use another person's account for any reason, unless discussed with an Administrator. We also recommend you use a unique password for your account. After you register and login to this forum, you will be able to fill out a detailed profile, if you wish to do so. It is your responsibility to present clean and accurate information. You get the chance to upload an avatar, or a small picture of yourself, or a character of your choice. Any inappropriate information will be removed, without prior notice.
4. The Administrators understand some people may be concerned about your email address being on display to other members. While the Administrators policy of not letting obvious or known spammers join, we cannot guarantee absolute privacy. All members have the option, in their Profile/User CP, to hide their email address from other members. If you tick this, it will show on your profile in italic print, so that you know it has been done correctly. Your email address must be a valid one, as Administrators may need to use it in exceptional circumstances. The email box scheme is to be removed from both Forums, in due course, because of technical problems with it’s use. There is also a Private Messaging system for contacting other members, and a number of features in this allow you to customise what you get.
5. In the event of your membership being terminated or disallowed for reasons of Forum abuse, or a complaint or legal action arising from any situation caused by your use of this forum, the administrators of this forum will pass details of this to your network administrator and/or ISP. This may also include any similar complaints or issues if you have membership on any similar services provided by the Administrator and friends. In extreme cases, the Police may be contacted (although in nine years of running groups, the Administrator has never had to do this). IP addresses are recorded with every post, but other members (aside from moderators and administrators) do not see your IP address, but it will instead show as ‘Logged’. You do not need to do anything to make this happen, as it does so by default.
6. Please note that the software places a cookie, a text file containing bits of information (such as your username and password), in your browser's cache. This is ONLY used to keep you logged in/out. The software does not collect or send any other form of information to your computer. The cookie is also used if you select the item marked "Login forever/keep me logged in". The administrators do not see what is contained within this cookie. Cookies are essential for the use of the Forum board to work properly. If you want to delete any cookies that are already on your computer, please refer to the instructions for your file management software to locate the file or directory that stores cookies. Our cookies have the file names SMFCookie11. Information on deleting or controlling cookies is available at www.AboutCookies.org (this link provided for guidance only).
7. If you work for any of the bus operators, local authorities, etc. featured, you agree that you are here for entertainment and general banter only, and not to snoop on staff performance, except with the approval of an Administrator. We can't always spot if a driver has a fag in their hand when taking pictures, or is on their mobile phone while cruising down the hill, so please remember, we do this as a hobby - not to get anyone fired.
8. The names shown in this board are for illustrative purposes only. Any trademarks are acknowledged in advance. Product and brand names are also for information, not placement.
9. The administrator reserves the right to change the settings on the group at any time, if required, to maintain or enhance the operations of the group. Notice (of at least 24 hours) will always be given (by means of an Administrators newsletter announcement) where possible. In extreme cases (outwith the Administrators control) this may not apply. In these cases, the administrator promises to explain why afterwards. Major changes to the group will be communicated by announcements, which you will not receive if you choose not to. We respect your privacy.
10. If you receive a PM (personal message), you will normally receive an email notification of this (these can be turned off via the forum). DO NOT REPLY TO THIS NOTIFICATION, otherwise it goes direct to the Administrator.
11. Suzy is currently operating two Forums – Dundee Area and Anglia. Members of the Dundee Area Bus Forum wishing to access the Anglia Bus Forum will need to register separately for the Anglia board, and this is also true vice-versa. You can pick the same username if you wish, subject to availability. If you choose a different user name, please send a PM to Suzy Scott to advise me, so I can ensure your account gets approved correctly (and not inadvertently rejected because I didn’t know who you are!)
12. Membership is subject to approval. Further information may be requested by the Administrators in certain cases, at our discretion (currently, this information is being requested for non-UK members, that is members that show up with an international IP address).
13. If your User ID or signature contains links to commercial websites (that is deemed not to be in the general interests of the membership i.e. pills), the Administrators reserve the right to terminate or refuse your membership without warning.
14. There is no charge for membership. Add-on options, where offered, are priced and conditioned separately.
15. You use the service at your own risk. The rules of our hosting company also apply.
16. A policy is in place as regards how to request fleetlists, please ensure that this is followed.
17. Your login user name and password are for your own personal use only, and should not be shared with any third parties. Additionally, should a member share their own login details on any public website or login bypass scheme, their details will be removed from the group, and a permanent bar imposed. We have some basic security on the group to avoid spam, and to protect the company staff we have here (see rule 7). Everyone is welcome in this group, but the Administrators do have the final say, for the benefit of everyone on board.
18. The contents of this website and forums, and communications between this website and forums and its users, are protected by database right, copyright, confidentiality and the right not to be intercepted conferred by section 1(3) of the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000. The use of those contents and communications by Internet Service Providers or others to profile or classify users of this site for advertising or other purposes is strictly forbidden.
Glosssary:
IP - Internet Protocol
ISP - Internet Service Provider
PM - personal message
Signature – the personal text you can show on the bottom of every post
SMF – Simple Machines Forum (the software we use for the board).
User ID – the name you chose when you signed up for the Forum
Our coverage area is defined as Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, Luton, Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, Peterborough, Southend-on-Sea, Suffolk, and Thurrock. You do not need to live in these areas to join, but most of the information posted will relate to these areas in some way.
Forum Administrator - Suzy Scott - either PM me, or email anglia@suzyscott.com with any questions or concerns. Occasionally, Suzy may have to become a ‘backseat admin’ temporarily if/when life takes over. Should this happen, another administrator will be left in charge. A message will be posted on the ‘Forum News & Information’ board, and add ‘currently backseat admin’ to her signature.
Secondary Administrators – Bob Tarling and Martin Chapman.
Any problems with these processes? Contact the Administrator online by sending a private message (in the forum) to "Suzy Scott". If you cannot get online, send an email to anglia@suzyscott.com as applicable.
Please include as much information about the problem you are having. Screen grabs are welcome, but no bitmaps please! Please include your operating system (i.e. Windows, Mac, Linux etc.), browser (IE, Netscape, Firefox, Camino, Opera etc.) and details of any firewall or anti-virus software running on your machine.
In the event that the Forum is completely gone, it may well be a problem with the server as a whole.
If you need to email alert the administrators, use suzyscott@btconnect.com instead, because the emails tied in with the Forum will not work if the Forum is down! Suzy will post relevant updates on her LiveJournal, where possibile.
